Helsinki metro is operated by Helsinki City Transport (HKL) for Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL) and carries 50 million passengers per year. This equals 0.10 kWh per passenger kilometre, and compares favourably with Helsinki trams (which used 0.19 kWh per passenger kilometre in 2002).
